My Project Goal:
The objective of this work is to broaden access to CS academic and professional opportunities for female students from non-technical backgrounds. We propose to broaden access for these students in two main ways by: 1) introducing non-CS major female students to practical computing skills to help with their engagement and motivation, and to increase their competitiveness in the job market; and 2) creating a welcoming and inclusive environment led by female role models to explore the practical aspects of the computing field, and potential pathways to graduate education and a future career in the computing field.
