Welcome,

API Summit Participants!

The annual CISE EWF PI & Community Meeting is excited to offer the Aspiring PI track as a part of the 2023 conference.

This opportunity brings together educators, researchers, and others from across the U.S., catalyzing new perspectives and conversations around computer science education. The Summit offers resources and experiences that will build capacity for a diverse pool of aspiring PIs to develop proposals in response to CISE EWF solicitations.

THE SUMMIT

The historical homogeneity of STEM decision-makers and leaders means that critical perspectives are often missing from the discourse around challenges that directly affect those underrepresented in computer science education and the tech workforce. In response, the Aspiring PI Summit aims to offer resources and experiences that will build capacity for a diverse pool of aspiring PIs to develop proposals in response to CISE EWF solicitations.

The Aspiring PI Summit will be held as a track of the CISE EWF PI & Community Meeting, with pre-Summit and Summit activities that aim to develop awareness of CISE EWF programs, identify opportunities for alignment and collaboration with funded CISE EWF projects, actively engage attendees in sessions that support proposal development with feedback from professional grant writers and CISE EWF experts, and connect attendees to researchers, evaluators, and CISE EWF program officers.

In addition, API Summit participants are invited to engage in portions of the CISE EWF PI & Community meeting, which brings together NSF program officers, principal investigators, and research community members  providing opportunities for CISE PIs to share their research outcomes, promising practices, and lessons learned. In addition to disseminating project findings, this meeting provides an opportunity for the CISE EWF community to discuss future directions for research, exploring novel ideas for broadening participation in computing, enhancing computing education, and improving workforce preparation—as well as how to grow the community of researchers and practitioners in these areas. This meeting provides APIs further  opportunities for networking and community building, an additional opportunity to connect with NSF program officers about future NSF-wide priorities, and deeper insights into the CISE EWF solicitations.
